You have the old feelings all stirred up the way it used to be when I watched The Pretender when I was younger. I have that the same feeling now. You have touched me heart and soul. S

ometimes you also bitch slap my mind a little bit but The Pretender did that when I watched, too. So much trauma sometimes. You have done it.

You do it. You do it again and again and again. I don't know how you're able to write fresh stories and keep it you know, exciting this way. It's like THe Pretender never even ended.

Thank you for that. You nail the characters down perfectly and you're a helluva story teller. I love the descriptiions, not too descriptive that we get bogged down in details. You're amazing.

Jarod in all his infinite madness playing piano and murmuring something along the lines of, "-the top notes. I went deeper, searched for the soul." 

I suppose you can say the scene struck a minor and unexpected, but absolutely percussive and resonant, chord.

It's weird, I know. You couldn't have been expecting normal from me.

Anyway, fortunately, another man had just vomited on the keys, and that sorta mitigated the impact.

Ohh I read your response to my other review here where I asked you which version of Jarod you found hot, sexy and erotic....and you think that scene with Jarod playing piano was.. what??.you didn't say if it was sexy or erotic just resonant, unexpected and percussive.... and you said the other guy's vomit mitigated the impact...the impact of what? Please explain. He wasn't even partially naked. There was no chest hair or anything. He had all his clothes on. He looked sweaty and his hair wasn't combed and he... what impact? Please explain it all for me. What?! AND please please please keep writing. I just keep jonesing for more.

Mhm, he looked sweaty because he was-- y'know sweaty. He was pretending to melt, Jillian, y'know innards liquifying, projectile vomiting, blood leaking from every orifice--all of that cheerful, superSEXY HOT! stuff, and you're begrudging the man a little perspiration. Am I in the upsidedown? I thought Jarod's fans were all lick-the-sweat-off-of-his-body hardcore, and proud of it.

Yes, I'm aware that Jarod was fully clothed, and- what? Jillian, are you suggesting Jarod has to be naked and dry with perfect hair and in perfect health to have some sort of an--- impact? (oh, but I catch hell for not being a fangirl and for calling him a smug, kidney thief).

NakedJarod would have been a bit much, dontcha think? And a bit like using a flamethrower on an already fully engulfed building or slapping a magazine into a gun and emptying it into someone who is already in a drawer in a morgue or punching the elevator arrow after someone else has already punched it? It can be done, yes, but should it?

And-- he was never nude, was he? I don't recall any nudity. Did we watch the same series?

Parker being Parker ... "Mm, well," Parker murmured, glancing at a sleeping Cate, "at least one of us is going to enjoy this."

I love it! They're growing, evolving but not so much that they aren't recongized.. just the natural growth that I'd expect. Their personalities are still their personalities.

All of the physical contact here even tho only G rated is so erotic to me...


"Please," Jarod whispered, moving his hand slowly down the length of her arm, and gently taking her hand into his, "talk to me."
Parker reciprocated immediately, threading her fingers through Jarod's, and said in a quiet, solemn voice, "I'd rather confront whatever or whoever we're running from than-- than you resent me, hate me. You could let me out here, turn around, go back to your life, and give Cate a family. I'd rather you do that than lose your freedom." Parker swung her gaze at Jarod when he didn't stop the car. "I'm talking. Are you listening?"

"I am," Jarod answered, lifting their joined hands to his face, and pressing his lips to her hand. "And now it's your turn to listen," he added, addressing Parker by her name, "You are my life, my family, you and Cate, and we're going to get through this together. All right?"


That was SO erotic, Jarod's tenderness. You're not the biggest Jarod fan and not a shipper so how do you feel about all of this? Is it any easier to write them together than it used to be for you? I'm so curious.
