Title: Chapter 4: Unknown (Part IV)
This is that other issue you highlight inside an already moving and emotional story. The prose and dialogue are familiar to what we know. These characters have a way and you have captured that "way" and you grow them. The full development you write is what I wanted to see when I used to watch The Pretender while doing my algebra homework. I read you and it's like they are there in front of me again and even better. I love this story. I love that Jarod loves Miss Parker enough to know he doesn't need the sex, that he doesn't want to risk what they have for the physical. He is lying at her side and sharing her bed and giving her comfort. Something else I noticed is a profound example of consent. She isn't trying to convince him to have sex with her or jumping his bones. She doesn't resent him or try to pressure him or tell him he isn't man enough. He explained how things were and she respected him enough to leave it at that. What you've given us here is a special magical gift Mirage. Right now more than ever this lesson needs to be heard. Thank you. Just thank you and wow. So much wow.
Author's Response: Absolutely, Angela, mutual respect is vital. Pressuring him to consent isn't respectful and it's not consent if she pressures him to have sex with her. Being angry about it isn't respectful. Emasculating him isn't respectful regardless of his reasons for not having sex with her. In this case, his reasons are concern for her and his (and her) incomplete honesty among other things. Anyway thanks for reading and reviewing.
