Decided to reread this story after many years and its still as touching and steamy as ever. Was throughly entertained yet again.
Reviewer: M Rose SignedI came accross this story and I couldn't believe I hadn't read it before. I was simply amazed how beautifully written it was and your portrayal of Jarod and Parker characters. Especially their blooming relationship. It's how I pictured it would be after IOTH. A simply beautiful story. Thank you!
Reviewer: M Rose SignedThat's pretty hot! Good one!
Reviewer: M Rose SignedNothing is more hideous than human nature.
Wow, thank you, I'm glad you liked it and I love your wonderful summaries of the different endings.
Abstract, written in five minutes, was my gift to the die hard shippers who put up with my attempts at writing, the ones who only want happiness and love and ..well, I find it all rather unrealistic, but I mentioned dreams and nightmares quite a bit, and because of that, this ending was sort of possible..and there it is.
Irreconcilable, well you said it better than I can..she's repeating that cycle. This was actually the only ending I was initially going to post. I'm so glad I didn't.
Oh my, Perdition is... well it's something else but it almost didn't happen. I didn't want take the story back to that insanity but we've really seen Jarod (in the series) push the limits and I couldn't help but explore the "what if's?" If absolutely power corrupts absolutely, what happens if and when a Pretender is corrupted absolutely by the all powerful Centre? And my answer is Perdition.
I'm so glad you like it, really thought I'd be stoned for that one but it just seemed to work so well and was so similar to Jarod in my mind, he's out there on the fringe, really.
Well, thank you so much, M. Rose, for reading and reviewing. It's been a pleasure to read every single review.

Sequel to Simple Pleasures. Parker is lured away from the Centre "Fun House" and soon finds herself trapped in Jarod's literal Fun House nestled away inside a cozy county fair, no it's not what you think. (Or at least I don't think it is) Mr. Parker's body is found, Lyle is arrested along the way and... blah, who cares?
Thank you, M Rose.
Jarod's going to have to work a bit to sneak past the watch tower. Eventually, I'm *almost* certain that he will breach the walls of the "grand palace" and claim his Queen.
Eventually.
Oh, I know, *shudders* clowns... I was actually going to have Jarod use some clown imagery in the "fun house" ride as well at the laughter but I just couldn't do that to Parker. (Yes, I chickened out.)
Reviewer: M Rose SignedThe hardest thing he's ever had to do is holding one woman and loving another.
I just adored that story zero2bitch! It's how the show should have ended. And you know they just have to end up together. Cant wait to read more of your work. Please continue to write.
Reviewer: M Rose SignedWhen Jarod and his clone are presumed dead and further cloning attempts prove futile, Raines is determined to find another way. He finds it in Dry River, Arizona.
Another Jarod and Parker adventure (and perhaps romance)? I'm in! Can't wait to read more.
Author's Response:
More is coming, slowly I'm afraid. Thank you, M Rose.
Reviewer: M Rose SignedLoved Jarod's introspection and Parker's unusual silence. And I can't tell you the enjoyment of how Parker goes all hot and heavy (albeit dirty) on Jarod one second and then just stops, and walks away LIKE A BOSS! Can't wait to see where this all leads.
Author's Response:
Thank you, M Rose, for reading and reviewing. Yeah, LIKE A BOSS! I'm trying to find time to complete the update.
Reviewer: M Rose SignedA secret she chose not to acknowledge.
I love the idea that Parker was working with the CIA for 5 years and no one knew. Not even Saint Jarod. I'm interested in how farther this story goes. Please keep writing.
Author's Response:
Thanks so much for reviewing! I'm glad you are intrigued. I do so love a strong MP, and she's worked with the FBI in this one. I have another one where she works for the CIA.
And this story will be finished. It won't be long and won't involve anything more than how Jarod and Parker feel about each other (read: not a whole lot of Centre lore) so it will mainly be drama/romance.
Again, thanks so much for reviewing. I've read all of your stories and have enjoyed all of them too.
Reviewer: M Rose SignedMiss. Parker's shooting brings Jarod closer.
Interested to see where all this is going. Keep it up. Can't wait to read more.
Author's Response:
When The Centre's involved all roads lead to secrects and lies...
Reviewer: M Rose SignedRandom chance? I think not.
Oh, let there be more to this story. It begs for a Jarod/Parker reunion with baby Parker in tow.
Author's Response:
Sorry folks, that's the end of this particular adventure. But i just posted a new fic, and it's gonna be epic and huge, so there will be plenty to for everyone to enjoy. Mwah ha ha. Seriously, it's at 52 pages right now and i've barely scratched the surface. Thank you ALL for your lovely and kind reviews! I'll try to be better about individual responses in the future. Peace and a bottle of hair grease! xoxo
Reviewer: M Rose SignedJarod wants something more.
Is this really complete? Say it ain't so Mirage. This is a wonderfully complicated relationship you have written. Parker and Jarod in full force. One HAS to give in. Parker for both to be happy, but will she? I'd like to think so. Bravo!
Author's Response:
Thanks for reading and the lovely review, M Rose. Mm, I don't know if she'll give in or not (perhaps in a sequel? Eventually?). We shall see. ;)
Reviewer: M Rose Signed"I'm not in the mood for a therapy session."
Very amusing to see Broots whine a bit. He would never have in the past. Can't wait to see where this is going.
Author's Response:
My Broots is a lil bit pissy with Miss Parker, yes, hehehe. thanks for the review!
Reviewer: M Rose SignedThe chase is over, but at what cost?
I'm really enjoying you're story. Jarod needs to calm down and realize that Parker has changed. The Centre is gone. And her priorities have changed. Hopefully, he can get to know his children and Parker again. Would love to read more.
Author's Response:
Thanks so much for taking the time to read and review. I so appreciate it M Rose. More to come, he'll calm down and you will see why he was so upset in the first place. I hope to explain why he seemed OOC in his anger.
Reviewer: M Rose SignedHere comes Ethan to the rescue, I hope.
Author's Response:
M. Rose, if you've been following twitter, SLM seems to say this a lot. "As far as you know . . ." . Ethan's a good guy. He'll figure it out, hopefully, he won't be too late.
Thank you again for reading and reviwing! I really appreciate it!
Maybe you can find some inspiration to finish "The Evolution of things" ? Please? =)

A crime scene, a chance meeting, two people transcending the lives chosen for them. Jarod POV. S.M.U.T.
Fhew! (Fanning myself) Mirage, that was positively hot! I'm melting! You sure you're not a shipper?!?! Well, either way, you write smut (or anything for that matter) very well and I enjoyed this piece immensely! Thank you!
Author's Response:
Hi, M Rose, and thank you so much for reading and reviewing. I promise: I'm not a shipper, not a Parker-Jarod shipper. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thank You, M Rose.
Reviewer: M Rose SignedJarod escapes from the Centre in 1979 and goes in search of his only friend out in the world.
A refreshing take of an AU story. Jarod lost so many years at The Centre, it's nice to read about what would happen if Jarod escaped as a young man. Its also nice to see Parker before she got bitter and abrasive, but still tough. Hope she can keep "Daddy" from finding out about Jarod. Can't wait to read more. Please keep writing.
Author's Response:
Thanks so much for your review! Although I think with Miss Parker and abrasiveness, that ship may already have sailed, lol. But bitterness, for sure. The interesting thing about writing about people in their early 20s is that, no matter how much parental or cultural pressure there is to move their lives in a certain direction, they still have a choice. They are not yet highly constrained by choices already made earlier in life. So MP has a choice to advance the Centre's interests or not, Jarod has a choice whether to spend his days deceiving people (even in the name of a good cause), etc.
Reviewer: M Rose SignedI cannot tell you just how enjoyable I'm finding this story. Love the growing relationship between Jarod and Parker. Can't wait to read more.
Author's Response:
Thank you! Are you the same "Rose" that's writing Yunasa?
I will try and crank out another chapter by the end of the weekend, then there might be a bit of a break because I'm travelling around Thanksgiving.
Reviewer: M Rose SignedNo, that's RedRose.
Then I'll have to savor that next chapter.;)
Author's Response:
Sorry I didn't make it by last weekend, it's been hectic the past week! Should have more time next week however.
Reviewer: M Rose SignedNot a shipper, eh? Yeah, okay. Seriously though, amazing job. Very sensual. Definitely in my happy shipper place.
Author's Response:
Ha! Well I never said they wouldn't be hot together, just that it is a hard sell to establish a real (functional) relationship in canon 'verse. The only way I see it happening is if she turns her back on the Centre, and time and time again she chooses them over him.
Glad you liked the chapter ;-)
Reviewer: M Rose SignedUh oh! Sounds like an experiment to me. I hope Jarod has a plan or comes up with one soon. Loved that girls were making mix tapes for Jarod.
Author's Response:
Jarod's options are limited ... if he wants to stay with Parker.
Proof that I'm old: I sort of miss the mix tape era a little bit. Trading mp3s on your iPod just doesn't require the same dedication or care. :-)
Reviewer: M Rose SignedThat's true though (about the mix tapes).
Unless Jarod can convince a young Miss Parker to run away with him, I guess he is limited. I don't think he'll give up his freedom though, so he may have to leave her for a while. Can't wait to find out how this plays out.
Author's Response:
Uh-oh, keep reading. You might not like the ending.
Freedom is a relative concept. Is Original Jarod free? Sure he's no longer locked in a cell, but he can't stay in any one place long enough to develop normal friendships/relationships either. Miss Parker, Broots and Sydney probably all think of themselves as free, and they're all obviously better off than pre-escape Jarod, but they can't exactly walk away even when doing evil. I doubt Miss Parker thought she would end up as she did, chasing someone down for *years*, back whenever she agreed to go work for her father. (One thing that worries me about the new young-MP-at-training-camp novels is that they might make the mistake of portraying her as being brainwashed, which would remove all agency from the character and ruin the great banality-of-evil thing they have going. But I digress ...)
Also the Centre has more options, because both Jarod and Sydney do not realize that some of the sims are being used for evil purposes. He must have done a ton of legitimate good ones, or they never would have been able to keep him captive until his mid-30s.

Finally, all the answers they'd been looking for...
That was a really good start and I for one would love to read more.
