Decided to hop aboard. I'm intrigued.
Reviewer: Sammi SignedBinging hard rn. Had to back up to review. This is too plausible.
Reviewer: Sammi SignedWhat is so terrifying is that this could happen...and how insightful this all is. I'm supposed to the zoom meeting thing but I don't want to go rn.
Reviewer: Sammi SignedI hesitate to use the word evil Jarod. He is being Jarod imo. He hasn't always treated her that well on the tv series. They bring out the worst in each other so many times. This is a realistic take on what's on my dvds. I'm in awe.

A crime scene, a chance meeting, two people transcending the lives chosen for them. Jarod POV. S.M.U.T.
*Fans self* This is hot. I'm serious. I love this so much. It's not just hot. It's also professionally written and not cheesy and not trashy. It's still in character and classy. It can't be an easy line to dance along and not cross. Well done. I hope you'll update this.

I hope you don't mind so many reviews all at once but I joined months ago and didn't have time to read and now I'm quarantined and binge reading lol! This is hands down my favorite pretender christmas story. It's beautiful and sweet but not so much that christmas cheer prevents Miss Parker from doing what she should have done a long time ago. I can think of no greater gift. I love this. It's like one of those christmas ghosts stories but with a centre styling.
Reviewer: Sammi SignedJarod is implicated in a spate of homicides.
Oh, the ending. Oh, my, my. Your prose is eloquent, stunning, gripping, powerful. I love this story, I'm sad to see this end, I'm grateful that you wrote it for us and that you updated it. You gave us a satisfying conclusion. Thank you so much.
Reviewer: Sammi SignedA past transgression jeopardizes Sydney's life.
I'm late to the party. Oops. Oh, Mirage, each piece you write is irresistible and satisfying. I read you compulsively. The characters... how do you write them so in character? I can't get enough. The topic is important and controversial and so original. You're tackling it gracefully.

Reading you is like watching not reading and I'm loving what I'm watching. More!
Reviewer: Sammi SignedWild Horses prequel.
Oomph. Profound, horrific.
In your stories Miss Parker usually saves herself. The majority of the time she does. We see her trying to do that here, basically trying to move her hand in a sawing action to make the knife slice the rest of the way through her hand so she can be free. But she doesn't succeed.
Jarod coming in surprised me. You leave it to my imagination to how Jarod arrives and I'm going to say that he and Sydney were in contact. Jarod may have even bugged Sydney's phone. Or Broots begged him to follow Miss Parker when she discovered another victim and went to free the victim.
I think the only reason Jarod didn't end Lyle is because Miss Parker wasn't breathing, ya know? I hope I'm right about my theories. I love this darkness. Please add the rest. Thank you for all of these missing pieces.

Thank you.
You are a breath of fresh air.
Reviewer: Sammi SignedI love the wit, intelligence, and excitement you pack into each story. The pages are already flying so to speak. I eagerly await future chapters!
Thank you for the rather generous review, Sammi.

Jarod getting all huffy like this.. ermagherd love it when he does it on the dvds too."a blind woman can even see" oh lordt! Makes my fangirl heart thump harder.
And shout outs to the motorhead tune. My girl Miuna was a metal head mechanic! Yahhh! Please say there'll be more flashbacks to her and how it all unfolded. I love it. Jarod's going back to the Centre. I can't wait. I always wanted to see him back there while Parker is there, too, long term thing. Make it happen please. Love you!
Reviewer: Sammi SignedOh snap! Why didn't I find you sooner? I'm on board so late in the game here. I've got many stories to catch up on.
I'm loving what I'm reading and you know what you're doing. The characters are so on point it's scary. It's also amazing, mind you, but it is scary too.
I'm enthralled and enamored of you.
I have the audacity to ask for more. Please. 🥺 ❤️
Thank you for reading, Sammi, and for the generous review.
Reviewer: Sammi SignedFinished business.
You shouldn't be hiding away your gems. Share them all. Please. Bravo bravo bravo!
Reviewer: Sammi SignedA last resort
"Jarod believed that Eminem added another dimension to Beethoven, and that tying Lyle to Margaret's boat, towing him out to sea, and leaving him to die would be a delightful deviation from monotony."
lol. I love it, Jarod's thoughts going from one thing to another. That's the way he thinks.
I love that Jarod wanted some hustle from the app too. We've all been there trying to get our app to call home cos it's an emergency and the stupid app doesn't know the difference between regular calling home and emergency calling home. A scathing review? No one wants a scathing review from Jarod. Do they, Mirage? Do you ever worry about scathing reviews or scathing reviews from the actors? I'm really curious now. I'd be terrified to post my Pretender fics online. I think I'd die if I got a bad review from MTW. But I would like to write some. I don't know how to write at all. You inspire me so much and really make me want to try. Please post more. The characters are ...exactly in character and it's scary the way you do this.
Don't misunderstand me. Feedback is always good, and I appreciate reading everyone's thoughts. That said, I didn't begin scribbling for the reviews. And I would never allow a scathing review to be a roadblock. I'd wonder why the person continued reading, and disregarded my warnings, and what, exactly, they were expecting from something called fanfic. I compare it to expecting fine cuisine from a waffle house, or Monet in a room of a fingerpainters, or Bach in the local pub on karaoke night. Some people are intelligent enough to comprehend those distinctions. Those who aren't-- mm, welp, that's a 'them' problem, so I hope you will post your fics here. Not everyone is going to like everything, and that's all right. They don't have to. You've got this. Thanks.

Heyy, so glad you updated so fast and every word is just so well placed and I love this story. You're a wordsmith! Thank you for the encouragement too. I'm going to post some stories here soon and fingers crossed I don't get that scathing review from that actor lol. I guess I'll be ok if I do.
More of this please.
Yes, post stories. I'll read them all as soon as life slows down a little bit. I wouldn't be concerned about a scathing review. Do what you feel compelled to do, and if someone doesn't like it-- that's a them problem. Not everyone can like everything. You're not going to please everyone, and that's okay. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Reviewer: Sammi SignedEPIC! I love this chapter. OMG the library. "Contentious ghost and secret passage" and then boom Jarod has secret passages. OMG!! Gothic trifecta achieved. I love it. Damn, girl, you rule. Glad to see you back again too. So much to love. Thank you so much for updating this.
Reviewer: Sammi SignedJust in time for Christmas and a hell of pressie too. Thank you Mirage. It's always a joy to read you. You know the characters well and infuse each scene with plausibility and meaning. This got seriously intense but not in a bad way or anything. Jarod does this, begins shrinking her sometimes. I remember Keys and his "especially traumatic ones" and Parker over there tied up basically cringing with each word he said, rejecting his words. I love your continuity of plot and throwback to earlier times. I love the suprrise too. A second kiss! My god. and her wanting to get it over with! That's SO like little Miss Parker. I want more. I love the story, plot, descriptive work, and the characters of course. You nail them. I'm wishing you love and a happy rest of the year and a happy every year after to you and your people.
Reviewer: Sammi SignedWow, you knocked this one right out of the ballpark, and every single character and word was pretender perfect. You keep on raising the freaking bar. You keep me craving more. I love it.
Never change. Never stop writing. We need you. Jarod will never get any rest if you keep writing him, hint hint cough cough. Keep writing please.
Ah, well, if means disturbing poor Jarod's slumber I simply must continue scribbling. *evil laughter*
Thank you for reading and reviewing, Sammi.

Profound. This is a beautiful surprise and written beautifully. Your professional prowess and know-how shines. I can't imagine even trying to write something like this. It's powerful and succinct and magnificent. Thank you from my heart for this, for continuing. I love The Pretender and my heart would break if there were no more stories. Keep keeping it alive. I love it. I love YOU! You're amazing. Take care of you, too.
