I was put off when I saw post-rebirth because I read enough rebirth and luke to hate those novels and don't consider them canon. They're like fanfic written by the creators and I think their names listed as fanfic authors here makes my opinion more concrete. After reading I took the post-rebirth warning as your way of saying we've moved on from there and you won't be including any of those characters or references I hope from those novels.
