Raine's death is the gift that will keep on giving!
This has aged well and will never get old.
Thank you for the gifts.
Until next time Mirage,

I'm reading this and listening to Wham! sing their Last Christmas song and it's all so beautiful! Do you know that song? Do you like it? You have mentioned George Michael singing Amazing inyour Lucanae story when Parker is in a club dancing..and discovered it's Jarod she's dancing with . so you know of his new music at least!! I love this story. It's Christmas and pretender and it's a perfect combination of all things Christmas and pretender. So I'm singing πΆcrowded room friends with tired eyesπΆ and seeing that parker is friendlybwith Jarod even tho she declines cake with him...she has to go and end raines for Christmas.. and rescue her child...is it Jared's child too?!! I need to know.. sequel please???!

Christmas isn't Christmas until I read this 10 times and now it's official Mirage!! You capture the spirit, heart and soul of The Pretender, the Centre, Parker, and Christmas. A big splash of twinkling lights in the darkness. It just like Christmas. That's what we do really, try to light up the darkness to make life a little easier and special. You do that for me every time you share your work with us. Please never stop gifting us I need your light and color πππ’—β€οΈ

This is a solid story that could be an episode like everything you write. So tell me now are the hollow bullets the very best or killing raines or is miss parker the very best so she sent herself? All 3 methinks! I don't go in for Xmas usually but this is bloody perfect!

I always read this at xmas time no matter how much I hate xmas. It's beautifully written and in character and Raines dies like he should. All that's missing is a happy ending for Jarod and Parker. A sequel would be amazing. hint hint hint hint hint.
wink wink wink wink.

This is still as exhilarating as it was the first time I read it. It's timeless. I love how this begins with a description of THE GIFT and it's location and Broots' thoughts about it. It was a stroke of genius to start this novella that way. This is all about THE GIFT. From there you tell us how Miss Parker procured THE GIFT and Jarod's role in that, which confirms Broots' suspicions of Jarod's involvement. You tie it back to that with your shiny ribbons of gold Mirage.
You fully immersed me in the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping, the crowd, the music, the ever present and loud AF salvation army bells, Miss Ella Fitz singing Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. Parker had to put some effort in finding the perfect GIFT for the ghoul who has everything.
You lighten the dark series up even more with this gem "Of all the shops in all the cities in all the world, Frankenboy walks into this one."
Then we hear the MOST Miss Parker thing that Miss Parker has ever said: "The lines are four hundred miles long anyway. Why the hell not?"
Everyone hates shopping for christmas.
I love that Parker corrects Jarod's "mr" with "doctor scrooge."
It's her reason for murdering Raines that makes this all the more plausible. A child. Her child. I'm guessing it's Jarod's child, too. I love that you didn't make that child be THE GIFT. Coerced parenthood is terrible, it's a curse, not a gift. I love THE GIFT is ding dong Raines is dead. A gift Parker gave to herself. A gift that Parker gives to Jarod and his family. It's a GIFT that will spare many people pain. Her reasons really are in keeping with the spirit of christmas, the good will towards humankind.
This might be my favorite novella of yours. I'm always blown away by this one, and it's always like I'm reading it for the first time. Bravo, Mirage, and have yourself a merry holiday time.

This is so exquisite, ChristmasY but also keeping with the darkness of the TV series. I love it. It's a perfect Pretener Christmas tale with a happy ending! Can I trouble you for a sequel? The child is hers and I think Jarod has to find out IF she doesn't tell him.
I always crave more.
Until next time,
Ciao!

THIS! This is what I'd expect hols at the Centre to be like. Parker out seeking the BEST for Raines and boom there's Jarod and then Parker gives everyone the gift that keeps on giving. Raines being gone! This. I love this. So many good tidings and Christmas feels too. Christmas ain't Christmas without Ella singing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. This is beautiful. The Gift. Pretender Perfect.

It never gets old. I love this. It's the Centre meets the holidays in a legitimately plausible way. All that evil isn't going to take a holiday break. Raines dead is the best gift Parker could give herself.
