I have university exams this week but instead of studying, I just read this in one HUGE sitting - I couldn't stop! Amazing piece of work you have here, Mirage. I love how true you've stayed to the characters. These are broken, troubled, emotionally complex people and you've conveyed that wonderfully. A simple happy ending just isn't on the cards for them (much to Jarod's dismay!). I look forward to reading more, keep up the good work!
Also, I'm yet to notice a single typo... :)

Again, I'm speechless but extremely grateful for the generous review. One sitting? Wow! That's impressive. It wasn't my intent to write more than ten chapters but then, the same could be said for the majority of the story. ;-)
I constantly second guess my writing and most likely always will so I'm relieved to read that I stayed true to the characters and was able to convey the many complexities. I will continue writing and I hope you will enjoy.

My.... I loved it!!!! It's getting better and better, and so true to what we could have expected in the show... I love the way you depict everyone's feelings and reactions. It's just perfect! I hope you'll get inspired enough to keep writing many more chapters! Keep writing, that's one of the best stories on the Pretender I've read (and I've read plenty of them!!) keep writing, you're doing GREAT!!!

so wonderful! Loved their kiss, and the way Parker's opinion about the situation between them is slowly changing from blaming Jarod to blaming herself! that's exactly how I understand Miss Parker's mind (blaming herself for everything inside and showing a cold exterior meaning 'I don't care whose problem it is' to everyone)
I also love the way you depict the clone's character. Too many fanfictions describe him as very mature and all because of his genius when it is obvious in the show that genius or not, Jarod himself is NOT mature in so many ways!!!
You're really doing a great work with this fanfic and I hope we'll have the next chapter very soon cause it's getting harder and harder to wait patiently for the next chapter each time!!!!

She's struggling with a lot of emotions- blaming herself for the theft of Jarod's childhood is just one of many. I believe the wall - the cold exterior facade, is raised in an act of self defense. And she was taught to "not let her emotions run away" so yeah..a lot of issues there.
As for the clone well, when I began typing up that particular chapter, things took a different direction than I had intended. I'm glad you appreciate that direction.
And no, despite Jarod's genius mind and the women he's slept with, he's not very mature. The pez, twinkies and the pranks. My God, I would have shot him a long time ago.
I am working on the next chapter right now.

I love this story, it is always interesting to see a different look at the characters. You have written an interesting plot line with enough twists that just when I thought I knew where it was going you threw in a new element.

Hi Ivi. Yes. *Huge sigh of relief from me* He's off the drugs and finally back to normal...or almost normal. (Not that wonder boy has ever been anywhere near normal...)
Parker, Jarod and his family are all a bit dysfunctional and I may further explore the issues caused by the Centre. I certainly can't ever see them as a big happy family OR P and J being a "normal" couple - not after everything they've all been through. Forgiving and forgetting is alwasy easier said than done.
