The thing that makes your dark stories so scary is how well you write, the plausibility, and how in character you write the characters....which is why it's so special when you use your skills and talents to write the lighter stories or stories with lighter elements.

The first 3 times I read this I was barely able to breathe. Your writing is powerful, your voice is strong. Your word choice is perfect. This ending-continuation is the way it should be.

I think Jarod not touching her, continuing their no touching ways is actually good and appropriate. You compare them to Ben and Catherine and oh I love that.

Parker was aroused by the new freedom and justice but sex can blow relationships up. Jarod made the wise decision to give her somewhere else to channel that energy. So like Jarod!

This is as much of a love story as a story about justice. This is about justice, too, and Jarod understands that what Parker has done is justice and that's why he's happy to be on the same page with her while she believes he won't like her particular style of justice. Jarod knows that justice can't always be found in a court or the laws.

It's a meaningful story meaningfully written.

Forgot to add how much I enjoy the mention of Ben and Catherine's relationship and the parallels between the couples and how it relates to REFUGE and how REFUGE also relates to Sydney. Jarod creates REFUGE, gives Parker refuge, is her refuge, and REFUGE helps them find refuge in each other .

I also was pleased to see that Parker is remembering Jarod's past advice to her and how he is the thing that scared and saved her life.
