I see what you did there. I've noticed that too, the similarities, and I love that you included it so beautifully. I love that Parker will eventually realize that Jarod has always been her refuge.
I think it's what he always longed to be but she wouldn't let him and he felt so hurt to lose her and... because he's such a juvenile deliquent child sometimes he resorted to playing games instead of being honest and opening himself up to more hurt.
I love that she leaves and comes back. That it's on her terms, not too pat, that they still both have years of crap to work through. He doesn't touch her. I think that's appropriate in this situation.
I think it should be the same courtship that ben and catherine had, slow but real. They already know they love each other.
Take a bow, Mirage. My god this is amazing.

Damn skippy! That plot twist is stunning. There's so much more going on here than just what is written. You imply so much in so few words but it all means love. I can hear them and see them and feel the same emotions they evoked while watching them on television. Parker still holding on to the snark and bark while Jarod remains patient. He's learned not to poke the bear while working at REFUGE and is applying all he's learned to reasoning with Parker. She was confronted with her actions and the reason for her actions when she saw that welcome sign REFUGE.
We already know that no one messes with Miss Parker's team EXCEPT Miss Parker.
Symmetry. Balance. Necessary.

Mate this is outfreakingstanding. I think Jarod was right that there was some definite trauma going on and I think they both have PTSD from what Lyle did in the beginning of the series. You round it out in a plausible way. Can't rate it anything but all stars. I'd give you more if it were possible. adding to favs too.

They are never-ending just like their love for each other.
They love without having to say the words and you make that obvious.

I had to go ahead and read both chapters without pause.
LOVE Jarod's reaction to Parker NEEDING to do something (him?) and he put her to work. I love that about him.
You prove again that you can write him NOT EVIL too time and time and time again.
It makes sense that she'd be aroused by the new found freedom and avenging Sydney.
I'm kind of weepy about how unconditionally Jarod loves her and how gentle he is and how he was overjoyed that she wasn't injured.
I just can't even find the words.

Perfect chapter title ‘ ‘
This entire series is so well plotted and thought out.
I think Parker's reaction to the REFUGE sign is appropriate. She was thinking of Sydney and we learn that he was the primary reason for her decision.
I don't blame her at all. I love how she bravely squares off with Jarod, welcoming his revenge-justice, showing no remorse. She's raw like that and bad ass. She's kind of like that horse Jarod has to talk down. I see all of the similarities between her and the other wounded creatures. At REFUGE.
I love all of this, will read again to savor in a moment.

This chapter 2 hammers it home for me.
You juxtapose mr. Parker's cruelty with Jarod's kindness and the parallels of Ben and Catherine and the refuge Ben provided Catherine and that of the refuge Jarod provides Parker .
I remember Ben saying that it was years before his an Catherine's lips touched. I always saw Jarod and Parker in Ben and Catherine.
This could easily be an episode or movie. I wish it was.
You have it all including continuity and consistency.

Ohhhh. I was too eager to read chapter 2 to review chapter 1 so I had to go back to do the reviews.
My heart!!! ’— These 2 are made for each other.
You show the complication and the mess of it and also show that they love each other anyway and it's clear that they live each other without the words and syrupiness that I know you dislike.
It's in Jarod's voice breaking and nearly sobbing with relief and the silence he gives her and in the way they don't use weapons in each other.
You've hidden a love story inside of a murder fic and it's a happy one so it must be Xmas. Xmas 🎁 🎁 🎁

I love that Parker tells Jarod he has no idea what he resurrected or the darkness inside of her and he's like yeah, I know it takes one to know one and talks about symmetry. He is saying he loves her anyway.
I love that he helped her clean up the crime and get away with it and fought with Ethan for her .
I love that she liberated herself and jarod who no longer has to drive so far to save a life and now he gets his family back.
I love your detail and descriptive work and that I see and hear the characters I know and love.
I love the action and plot twists and surprise happy ending and that he insists it's all her choice.
I love REFUGE and that Sydney's safe word featured prominently and that the sign caused such a real reaction in Parker and how Jarod was just so patient.
I'm amazed and have happy tears in my eyes. This blows me away like nothing before.
