I accidentally clicked submit before I had completed my typicing. As I was saying BRAVO! I love this. Real progress and so much character development and growth here. 

A. I have to say right off that I love how Jarod was so distraught by Parker's nonreaction to the ammo can that he looked right at Parker and watched her unpacking Cate's belongings and still didn't really see Parker doing it. 

It's only later that he is upset that she is taking on the full responsibility of unpacking Cate's belongings all by herself. THat was a really subtle.... oooh, it's really nuanced. Genuis of you. 

I love that he seems sickened by the assumed roles. 

They can't break the abuse cycles taught to Parker by her parents, by her father really as her mother only accidentally normalized the abuse, by continuing the partriarchy's assumed gender roles and dutiies. 

I didn't always see the problem with patriarchy. I'm a man. I wouldn't see a problem with it because as a man it's never been a problem for me... I'm thinking ahead and I guess you would point out that it's a problem for me, too, because of the burden of expectations on me as a man to perform according to what society thinks a man should be and do ... yeah, you'd be right. There's a burden for all involved. And I do wonder what you'd say about that, too. 

B. Parker is really opening up more to Jarod and maybe even taking comfort in Jarod's really simplistic approach to what is probably terrifying for them both. Parenthood.  "Let's keep doing that." They already love her, they're already letting the child play and have fun.. which is shout out really to Parker asking the clone in season 3 if he wanted to play, have fun, like normal kids. And the thing we all have to remember is that she didn't get to play and have fun or have pets like normal kids either, but there she was eaten alive from the inside out by guilt. 

C. I love the continuinity, that you continue the story we already know and love so well. 

ABC. 

THat simple.

HEYyy! I love this. OMG I love it and it's so damn professionally written, and DAMN plausibly written. I'm so glad you're not gone. We HAVE to keep the fandom alive forever! 

Perserverence for real. So appropriate! I think we're all perservering as best we can, and I guess I love that my favorite characters are struggling too, right along with me, and I think my life is pretty rough but I think having a kid dropped into my lap, being told it's mine and that I have to try not to mess it up would be worse, which is why I vote for people who will keep abortion legal. I WOULD MESS IT UP. 

I'm so underbabied and I so love it. I'm also underbrain-wormed and that's why I'm smart enough to know that the world is so overpopulated already. Dude, I'm all good. That must have been one FAT worm when it finally died. No more brain left.

I was on the heels of an existential crisis with so many Pretender family passing on and I have found comfort here.  This journey has been so refreshing, the way the characters grow and their lives transition. I love little Cate and that she poses challenges that Jarod and MP didn't expect.

You answered my emails and were so kind to me and I was surprised. Your writing voiceS you have many of them are different from you. It's like Mirage is a character you get in to first before writing. I'm impressed with your versality. Not that you sound unkind in your writing voice. I don't how to explain.

This is the first one of your stories I read and is the first one I am reviewing. I hope there is never a last chapter. Please never stop. We need to keep the fandom alive. Thank you for writing and your sage advice to me when I was having my crisis.

Mesmerizing. You're one of those authors who always takes my hand and pulls me into the story. I forget where I am and my surroundings and become immersed in the images you create and evoke.

I like the darker stories where Jarod is darker and you write those scarily plausible and remarkably well, but there is something to be said about your outstanding ability to write Jarod and Miss Parker in a loving and understanding relationship. I was worried when he broke into her home and broke into Xander's. Obviously those Jarod and Miss Parker, and Jarod especially, has demons and I've always thought the bitterness, pain, feelings of betrayal and his darkness could easily lead to him doing something horrible to Miss Parker.

But that didn't happen in this series of yours and as much as I enjoy the canon aspect of those two being on opposing sides and bickering and how you write them more close to canon I also love how you carefully bring them together slowly. It takes time and work. You show that. It must be hard to show that, to have to write how they must reconcile all of the crap they've been through.

It's not cheesy, it's not rushed, it's still, and realistically so, a day to day effort for them. Things can't change for them for the better at the snap of a finger.

If Steven and Craig ever do include Broots in their fanfic novels or ever finally complete the story on tv or a movie I hope they have this same twist where Broots is DIA who infiltrated the Centre JUST LIKE IN THIS STORY!

It's a genius, pure stroke of genius.
