Title: Tension

Color me freaking elated.

Just watched your story! The hour went like a train and I got logged out lol. You have that special quality the best writers have. Be still my heart; my namesake and other characters are written truthfully and fleshly. Bonus points for plausibility and originality. The words and writing are your own and you know how to use them. You wrote a multichapter story that holds my attention for 10 chapters and left me craviing more. WIN! I like the Pretender novels but I dare to say that I like your writing better. I can't believe you don't use a beta. Miss Parker thinks you are lying about that. Which is it his or her? You have to write a bio! Write a bio and then update this story!

Author's Response:

Well thanks, The Miss Parker. Feel free to make inquiries; there is no beta, just my own futilte attempts to correct myself as I type (with an evil word processing program that plots against me). I'm not worhty of beta's time. His or her? Huh?

Oh, no. I cannot, and will not, write a bio.

I will eventually udpate this; I'm trying to rotate the stories out so that no one fic goes ignored for too long. I'm failing miserably. Thank you for reading and reviewing.

Title: Tension

Tension is right! Sexual tension, tension of the furture, tension in voices, tension in looks. You balance everything out extremely well Mirage and you always leavve me dying for more! Your characterizations never fail to wow me! This is how things were on the show, this is how my characters behaved. The way Jarod and Miss Parker will get close and then she always ALWAYS chooses the Centre over him. Perfect! I love love love how Kyle tells Miss Parker it wasn't that funny. He wouldn't like cops so I totally get that and it was really subtle. She barks at Ethan some too and that is really refreshing because Miss Parker doesn't hold back from anyone and she totally expected him to side with her...another disappointment for her. Thank you for keeping it real with responsibility and including Jarod. He wouldn't get off scott free for impersonating FBI, doctors, and all. My day is made. Thank you Mirage!

Title: The Missing Piece

Welcome back Mirage. You have been terribly missed! This is another brilliant update and worth the wait. I know how busy you are in real life. I was kind of upset that Jarod was making out with the wrong woman lol but they were never an item during the series and she kept rejecting him. I get it. No hard feelings. I found it interesting that you described Jarod so well in EThan's opinion. "Panache in spades" YEs! You aren't a shipper, not a fan of Jarod but you still know how he's supposed to be written and you never stray from the character's character. I love that about you. Please post more. a Mirage update is a gift and is always welcome.

Author's Response:

Aw thank you so much, Miss Shannon. Right: Parker and Jarod were never "together" during the series. They've been making out with everyone except each other for quite some time. I know that other women/girls love Jarod. I think I understand. I'm not fan material. I can barely keep up with my own life and birthday. Thanks again.

Title: The Missing Piece

So nice to see Kyle back where he belongs. I never believed that Kyle's heart would work for that little boy when I watched red rock Jarod. Hearts need to be on ice or the body hooked to a machine to keep the blood pumping to be useable but they expected us to think Jarod could save Kyle's heart and give it to that boy. This is more plausible. I love all the interactions and Kyle is his same old perfect self in this fiction. Please update soon. Merci!

Ooh Ooh! Mirage I love your originality in thinking up plots, quips and those fictional terrorist organisations! You are amazing. This chapter was too short. I was settled in for a long read.

I forgive you. I'll read something else of yours. I hear that Forces of Nature is a twisted 1 so might check it out. Please never stop writing. I'm not sure what I'd do without you.

Author's Response:

I assure you: I am not amazing. Thank you for the rather generous review nonetheless, Chloe. I see that I'm too late to advise you against reading FON. I apologize in advance. Thank you for reading.

#ThePretenderLives when you write. Mirage this is splendid! Send Lady Muse my best and my thanks! I love your writing style, your innate talent to flesh out the characters and restore them to the Michael and Andrea that I know and love. I will impatiently wait for more. Please put a rush on it.

Thank you, Needlepoint. The Muse appreciates your kindness as do I.

Top notch writing Mirage. You have so much talent and passion....... and too much humility. Stop being modest. We all have strengths. Writing is where you excel heads and shoulders above the rest. Nobody does it better than you. What I find most interesting is your genre bending skills. Authors usually stick with one good fit but you wear all genres like a glove. I feel like I'm selfish for asking you to stay on and share your talent with us. Please stay and share your talent with us.

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading and reviewing, John. I'm baffled. I wasn't aware that I was too humble; I have no idea how to respond to that. I don't know what to tell you. Thank you for all the sweet comments.

So, I've avoided reading this for some reason, but I was having Pretender withdrawl and there was your story in the Recent section--with 71! reviews.  I figured it must be rather good.  So, I read it--all nine chapters.  And now I'm on board and eagerly awaiting chapter 10!  Thanks for sharing.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Kelly, for reading and reviewing. I'm glad you're liking this fic thus far. It's great to have you on board.

Petuary I like! Screw the spelling. I don't see the typos and I wouldn't care anyway because your stories are always so brilliant Mirage! The characters are spot on, the dialoge is outstanding and the plot is original! Don't get me started on your eloquent writing style.

MP:"Your bedside manner, Jarod, is execrable." Jarod: "Bedside manner." Jarod repeated neutrally, tasting the word and finding it rather agreeable indeed. "Why, Miss Parker," he intoned salaciously, "I didn't realize that you were so interested in my bedside manner."

WOW! You ARE the best. I need more. Soon. Screw turkey dinner for 35. I want to read more of your stories! Happy Turkey day anyway.

This was perfect! Never have our TP characters been more in character than when you bring them to life the way you and only you can do. I love their dialogue, it is so refreshing. I bow to you! Extraordinary, so perfect... very intelligently written. Mirage I'm in awe of your writing career! You've accomplished so much and kept me spellbound, and sometimes shocked but hey hey that's what a brilliant author does. :) The way you flesh out characters is miraculous. Miss Parker and Jarod when you write them are right there.....i'ts like watching Michael and Andrea interact...you breathe life into them like no other ever has. You should be writing the novels, or at least be a part of the writing team. You have a fresher perspective...you have The Pretender in your blood....in your bones. Can't rate you anything but a ten! Thank you for everything!

You are a writer Mirage. You are my favorite author and the reason I was still here when the reboot came about.  I did buy the first novel because I was excited...THIS is better. I'd love to see the series take any route that your fics take. You are so insightful and...you're brilliant. You should be writing our Pretender novels. Keep on the great work.

Author's Response:

Thank you, needlepoint, for the kind words. I'm not certain how, exactly, to respond to much of what you've said. I appreciate the review, I'm thrilled that there are still people out there reading fan fiction. Fan. Fiction. Fan fiction- the bowels of literature. I don't consider myself a writer; I am not writing the Pretender novels. I'm a realist; I haven't deluded myself into thinking I'm a writer or that I'll ever be writing a Pretender novel. I'm just a simple person from a small town where people work and struggle and still get nowhere. Yay life.

Well done Mirage. Be proud of these very impressive achievements. Captivating plots, original dialouge, twists that keep me on the edge of my seat. I've never seen these characters more in character than when you write them. I hope to read much more from you in the future. Congratulations!

Author's Response:

Not well done, but I suppose I've written worse. Thank you, Jarod, for reading and reviewing.

Title: Exile

Hello Mirage. It is always a pleasure to read an update from you! And so soon after you updated The Return! Thank you as always for both writing and updating your many fan fics on this page. You have said before that you are 'just' a fan fiction writer and not a 'real' writer but I continue to disagree! You have kept The Pretender alive for me and entertained me for  years with your various stories. That makes you a writer!

Besides considering that two former fan fiction writers have achieved success on the 'real' world and yet another (writing about One Direction no less) is poised to do so, so can YOU! At the very least Steven and Craig need to employ you on some capacity or at least make you a character in the next novel!

Anyhow, enough with the flattery (albeit most sincerely meant). This was another great chapter! I so wanted Miss Parker to kick that womans ASS! And Kyle's come to think of it. Perhaps Jarod as well. Lyle was right she is beautiful when she is angry and I suspect of Jarod doesn't give her some answers soon...watch out!

As always you wrote Jarod and Parker so richly with all their many nuances! It's why I love coming on here and finding an update from you! Looking forward to the next chapter and to your other story continuations as well.

I've read each of your updates twice already. I can't figure out which story I enjoy most so far! It's such an achievement and on top of your completed fics!!! The child abuse part of this was really emotional. You write from inside the story. It's kind of disturbing. I can't imagine what it's like inside your mind to see things so vividly. It's like you have been there and you open the door so we can go too. If you're still willing to give away your muse I will take her to write like that. Thanks for the journey. Please update soon.

Thank you for reading and reviewing, d_el1. Yes, please, take the Muse.
