ok ok!! This was not my favorite story of yours but Mirage it's really come together in a way I didn't expect. This chapter!!! So much visual data. I could see Jarod's bloody hand prints on her neck where he lifted her chin and performed CPR. Covered her mouth with his own.... kiss of life, so unlike your kiss of Death story.
These details. Graphic but sooo profound. You are extremely talented and you are skilled. I think you've always been a genius and had this ability but didn't know how to wield that genius or didn't know the power of your genius with the first stories. I looked back at In Pieces and...don't take this wrong because In Pieces was terrific but I can see the growth. You wrote In Pieces for the fans who were asking you for specific things but every thing since has been completey bold and tenacious. You are Tenacious M. :) In piece was fanfic. Every thing since has been grade A fiction. I continue to be blown away by your writing. I've never see anyone write Jarod so fleshed out ...this includes those novels sorry I know you don't want to be compared and all but credit where due hon. Sydney is so... I get tearful because I love these characters from tv and here they are again. You got inside their heads Mirage and you know them. Gut wranching chapter here. Jarod doesn't know his son is dead yet and he hasn't even begun to remember what all Cox did to him. He only remember being forced to perform the oral part...but the Centre raped Catherine to make Ethan so... it's no great shock to me. I love that you explore the darkness. Keep going. I'm intrigued.
You didn't expect? This story ended for me at chapter one, and I was so happy to have another completed story under my belt. Oh, let's not talk about In Pieces; that thing jumped the rails. I included every single thing that every reader requested. Um, no, I still don't want to be compared to anyone. This is no competetion. This is fanfic. I know it's been a real pill for you probably as big a pill as Circles of Hell and Forces of Nature but you kept going and didn't give up. Thank you for not giving up. This was one of those stories that wasn't my favorite in certain chapter but now has become one of my favorites. It didn't lag anywhere or anything like that and has been written well all throughout but I sorta agreed with you that chapter one was the highlight.....UNTIL Parker went back for Jarod which I didn't see coming and for once in her life thought about her mother and what was right. It took her own child dying because of the Centre to see the truth and you know, I think it would take something of that magnitude to shake sense into her. Thomas didn't, her mother didn't but parents are never supposed to bury their children...it's like a big deal. This chapter was everything I never thought I wanted to read. The way they communicate, Jarod's gently prodding for her to talk about Luc. oh my heart! I like that she didn't pretend to be ok that she didn't seem so cold to Jarod. But the tragedy of it all. Mirage you write loss too well. It scares me. I felt like I was there in the restaraunt watching Jarod and Parker talk...and not talk. It's amazing It's magic like I've always said about you. Magic. Thank you for sharing the magic with us. You've kept Jarod, Parker and gang all alive for me.

When Parker says 'your mother believes you're dead' and Jarod replies 'she isn't wrong' I nearly died for him. I thought at first that Cox had infected him with HIV or something like that and he was dying. But he was talking about what rape does to a person. It kills something inside.
It's a sensitive topic rape is and you always bring the facts to life. What Parker says and does for Jarod is what every victim needs to hear. I don't know how you know all of that, how you knew to have her say what he needed to hear but you knew and I love you for writing respectfully about this topic. And you did it despite not being a Jarod fan or a follower of Michael's work or whatever. Parker knew she couldn't let him leave. She pulled a Jarod on him really, did what Jarod does.
What is really poignant and profound is that he'd had just enough strength left in him to try to save her. He wanted to save someone and thought it should be her because she can't talk about Luc still. He used it all up trying to save her if I'm not mistaken here. Had he gone to help anyone else in 'savior mode' he might have died 'drowned' doing it. But because it was Parker, she saw and she's trying to save him. Oh god. You're not a shipper?!
It is heartbreaking and beautiful.
If you were writing the novels I'd buy them and that's all I'll say because I don't want you to be pissed at me. I'm not insulting the creators. I'm telling the truth and trying to help sales.

Hi, yeah, I'll admit that I'm not always a Jarod fan; he was a little bit too much sometimes.
No, I'm not a shipper. This was two people who love each other, two people showing up for each other, and finally resolving decades of trauma, distrust, hate, etc, etc, and finding a way back to the friendship that had been stolen from them.
