This was an excellent piece, a nice glimpse into Catherine's world. Dark yes, but it's the Centre after all. Enjoyed it.
Reviewer: Mirage SignedExcellent! A continuation would be great.
Reviewer: Mirage SignedAw, that was so sweet. "You love me." He was absolutely astonished and it really comes through in your writing - which is brilliant by the way. I could see the entire scene playing out in my mind. Congrats!
Reviewer: Mirage SignedNice. This played out much like an episode. Great job.
Reviewer: Mirage SignedOh wow! I love this and tend to agree that Jarod is indeed quite manipulative. Perfect piece here, tragic and beautiful. I'm glad I stumbled upon it!
Reviewer: Mirage SignedVery well written, Kristia. I would like to read more from you.
Reviewer: Mirage SignedOh..so sad but so perfectly written. You captured so much emotion, the characterizations were spot on and it was just incredibly heart-wrenching. Poor Brootsie survived, and yet he suffered immensely. Loved it!
Author's Response: Thanks, glad you liked it. Short but not sweet!! Somehow it felt right that Broots should be the last one left.
Great story! Can't wait to read the rest.
Reviewer: Mirage SignedYou wrote Jarod just as annoying and smug as he generally seems to be in the show. Great job.
Reviewer: Mirage SignedBravo! Good doesn't always win- especially when the Centre is concerned and you've demonstated that well in this fic. Parker forcing Jarod to taste his own blood though...was amazing...such vivid detail. So good to see that Jarod didn't escape three seconds after he was captured.
Author's Response: I hate it when he escapes myseteriosly half an hour after they catch him. In WIC, he was there for about a month, and had the plane trip not happened, he likely would have been there much longer.
Thanks!!
Oh wow, this is so terribly sad but it's so lovely that Parker and Sydney are leaning on each other and perhaps in asking herself questions, Parker will eventually stumble across an answer and choose the correct path. The story, tragic as it is, is very well written. If I were the weepy type, I'd be sobbing now, I'm certain. The title is spot on- that's exactly what loss feels like.
Reviewer: Mirage SignedGreat story but seems unfinished...oh, okay, found the remainder on another site. Excellent!
Reviewer: Mirage SignedHaha, I love this: "Just pretend they're Raines"- could just imagine that, haha. It was a brilliant story, very well written and I love how well Parker and Jarod work together, so much like they did during the IOTH. Your son is very cool for suggesting the story! Sequel or update?
Reviewer: Mirage SignedWow, great job! This is a hell of read. Very well written!
Reviewer: Mirage SignedYou really captured Jarod well and provided some nice insights into what he feels on those lonely nights when it seems hope can't be found. Great job.
Reviewer: Mirage SignedOh, yes! Broots gets the girl. Finally! I love that guy.
Reviewer: Mirage SignedGreat story so far but I'm left wondering what happens next? Is this the complete story?
Reviewer: Mirage SignedI can almost feel the tension between P/J, and it's so easy to imagine how Parker's inability to trust J and actually trust Mr. Parker would leave Jarod both perplexed and disgusted. But at the same time, it's easy to understand why Parker can not trust Jarod. You nailed all the characters. Fantastic read! You should have tons of reviews. :-)
Author's Response: You are my 'new' favorite person! :) Thanks for the compliment of "You nailed all the characters" Coming from another writer, that means a lot! Thank you!
Oh WOW! Thank goodness for the random fics on the home page. This is by far my favorite pairing and as of now, it's one of my fav fics. I love this story, love that Debbie belongs to Parker and Broots. That hint of doubt was so cute, so like our lovable tech.
"and you know how he (J) is when he eats too much sugar" (laughed so hard at that line!!!)
I could go on and on about how much I adore this fic. You deserve ten million glowing reviews and more than a rating of ten!
Nice piece here. I do hope you will continue this soon.
Reviewer: Mirage SignedOh man, another unfinished story- and I hate not knowing how it ends. It was a really good start, flowed well, was well written and you've really kept the interest and intrigue, would love to see this completed.
Reviewer: Mirage SignedA young girl is dumped in front of Miss Parker's house in the middle of winter. How will she affect Parker's life?
2010: Chapter 2 has been updated to include a missing chunk that was cut out in the original transfer here. I'm sorry it took me so long to realize it!
2013: Ch 1&2 have been updated slightly.
Awesome read! I absolutely LOVE Sydney's reactions to Parker's kindness, also love Miss Parker's reactions to Sydney's comments about Jarod. I HAVE to read the next bit!
Oh wow, I'm cringing here at just the thought of shackles on an exam table. Great plot, character introduction and you nailed the characters of course. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series and all of your stories and I hope you write many, many more!
Author's Response: Thank you for all your nice comments. =) I had to write the part about SL-27- to this day, 10+ years later, I remember absolutely jumping out of my skin when Broots turned that haz-mat suit around and the skeleton bumped agianst the faceplate! =) I'm in the process of writing more Madeline stories, as well as hopefully finishing up a couple more I started but never finished- "Practice Will Eventually Make Perfect" actually deals with those shackles on the exam table and what they potentially could have been used for.
Version One of the Madeline Series. Madeline has something cooking. The first two chapters under "Madeline Series" go with both versions, then it splits up into the two versions. "Cooking with Madeline" follows the series.
Part 4B is back in the works- Miss Parker needs to have a little fun and Madeline is determined to make sure she does! :)
OH YES!!! Just read all three chapters and wow, I love that you incorporated Thomas into this fabulous story and YES, it meshes perfectly. "We came to an understanding.." Love that part! Wonderfully written fic here. Thanks for sharing!
Author's Response:
Going back and rewatching the show again, I really really came to love Thomas and how happy he made Miss P... and I had to show Madeline's reaction to a strange man coming into the mix. Unfortunately, it doesn't end well, which is what the next chapter will be about. =( But right now, I'm working on a part revolving around the season 2 ep where Brigitte tried to kill Mr. P... Madeline always seems to find herself in awkward situations! ;)
