PLACING THE BLAME

by Cassandra2pg

She's blaming the drinks... one, two, three, four.

Because it's not supposed to be like this. The rules have been set long time ago, right?

He should not be sitting in front of her.

He should not be looking at her while sipping his own drink.

And she should not be staring at his lips.

The silence between them should definitively not be comfortable.

Things just are not supposed to be that way.

But she can blame the drinks.

She can pretend that she is just too drunk to notice that it's Jarod sitting in front of her, that she is too drunk to remember what she is supposed to do.

She takes another sip. Alcohol is made to forget, isn't it?

And for once the warmth she feels doesn't come from the drinking itself.

It comes from the fact that she is not drinking alone.
