A response to a challenge in pretender100. Not my characters.

That name meant nothing to her; never had, never would. It didn't remind her of anything, she hadn't deserved it. It was a nickname her father had given her for being his guardian angel -or so he claimed. For her it felt like another excuse for him to avoid using her real name -the one that died with her mother-, to bring her up as his image, as a bona fide Parker.

It held a deceptive sweetness so that she couldn't fight him, that she could be spun further into his web of lies. It was a constant reminder of how she was anything but.
