They'd Never Understand

By AngelWings

Four white walls surround me,
Loneliness is all I know.
They show no love for me.
I miss my family, my freedom so.

They would never understand me.
Understand my pain, my need.
I will never get the love I long for,
Unless, I can have another life to lead.

Taking the matter in my own hands,
I made an escape route to freedom.
Longing for the fresh air, the sunshine,
No matter what it takes, as long has I can have ‘em.

I had risked a lot to get out of there.
But it was all worth it now.
Walking down the street with a smile on my face.
Nothing can stop me now.

Suddenly, spotting a black limo,
Parked on the street, behind the black van.
Seeing them jump out and come towards me,
Knowing the only thing to do, I ran!

The street below me,
Only a blur from my speed.
Just running to get away.
Freedom was all that I need.

Then I heard them yelling,
Pulled out their guns and aimed.
I heard the first shot bang through the air,
It hurt harder than it came.

Now I lay on the pavement,
My life slipping form my hand.
I see them standing over me,
And I whisper, “You’d never understand.”

Liked it? Loved it? Absolutely sucked? Tell me
