I imagine you, through love through time
of what you are, what you will become
i see you learn, grow, and wonder
at the static world around you,
eager to get a tiny shred of novelty.
you are vulnerable and impressionable,
every new idea something to marvel, to treasure
like a small child never allowed to grow up.
but what would happen, if that child were to be free?
would he continue to wonder and marvel?
or would he discover the hurt and pain as well;
unable to bear the great burden placed upon him
and become lost to evil and temptation.
no, as long as he has a constant, a guide, he should
continue to wonder and marvel.
but what if i am wrong, and years from now, i unleash a monster?
hasn't every person who played God been swallowed up,
slayed by the monster they created?
