Miss Parker sat in front of the open fire.
She stared with morbid fascination at the flame until finally she snapped the lighter shut. She had not a thought in her head. She was just so hypnotized by the flame.
“Why Parker!” Sydney asked.
She snapped out of her zombie state. “Why not?” She gave a smile a real one.
“I like it.” Jarod said as he stepped out of the shadows. “Did you know that on November 5 Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the British House of Parliament? Now November 5th is called Guy Fawkes day and they light bonfires and set of fireworks… oh and they burn an effigy of Guy.”
“What does that have to do with this?” Sydney demanded. Jarod was full of trivia.
Jarod popped a sweet into his mouth and watched the flame. “Miss Parker burned the Center down on November 5!” He grinned. “I love it!”
