Of all the records, files, documents and video they kept on Jarod ironically only one thing he ever touched survived. A single gold ring that he wore on his left ring finger even though legally it had no place there.

When they burnt his body only it survived. They mailed it to her, even though she was a thousand miles away and hidden. There was no mistaking the inscription. Others write things like 'forever and always', their life wasn't so simple, their relationship so black and white.

Instead he wore the one thing he'd been able to give her: 'hope'.
