Fire


I sit perfectly still staring into the fire, not making any movements. I can't let him see that he made me vulnerable. Sure to anyone else, sitting in front of a fire without any clothes on would make them vulnerable, but for me, I can't let him see deep within. I can't let him see the inner part of me that has fallen in love with him. The only reason that I have been chasing him this long is because I long for the short glimpses that I see of him. I never thought that I would catch him and end up sleeping with him. As I stare in the fire I feel sadness because along with the fire, I realize that my chances to chase him are burning away each moment I sit here with him. I stand up and dress, leaving him asleep, giving myself the chance to forever chase him and to keep the burning of my love alive.
