She watched him wordlessly but when he turned to walk out of the door, she blocked his path and brought the gun back up to point at his chest. “You won’t leave.”

A flicker of hurt dashed across his face.

“This is probably the best chance I’ll ever get to drag you back there and I intend to use it.”

“Stay out of it, Freud. And you, Jarod, turn around.”

“I helped you,” he argued.
