Jarod hit Sydney! OMG! So like...I've always wanted to see Jarod get angry and hit Sydney but I never really wanted it to happen...like a dream or if Jarod did it in a nightmare....or in this case where Jarod is not himself. And I've finally seen it. I SEE IT because you flesh out the characters the best of all. Thank you Mirage! You are a fan of the show and I can tell and you have The Pretender in your fingertips and inside your heart. I think you really love this show to know it and the charaters so well as you do! Your not writing the TP novels and I've accepted that finally, but this is better. You get a free way to write what you want when you want!! This is better than the novels anyway. Thank you for your dedication to the show and characters. You keep the dream alive for me.

YAAAYY! I screamed when I saw your update. Coolness. This was epic like everything you do. When I read you the characters I love so much come to life and start moving and talking! I love this story and it's really interesting to see the interplay i love so much between Jarod and Sydney. Adn Sydney still has the gun in his pocket? BUt he didn't use it on Jarod? It's because he loves him. It's just so heartwrenching and soulful. I hope your cut from the rain collecting barrel thing isn't keeping you from writing..cuts are a b#$@! I didn't know you were one of those environmentalist types utnil someone on twitter said somethn bout it. but I think it's cool. More of this story soon. Pleeze update the rest of them too.

Ok first lemme say I don't know how you can write ..what is it now..... 5 or 6 fics at a time.. I want to thank you for updating and actually finishing what you start. I want to kiss you for continuing to write...I'm not a lesbian either but I think you are terrific! Just don't stop writing. Some of us are down about the TP reboot so you can't let us down. Ooohhhh! Uhhh! Mirage!!!!!!!!!! Thought Syd was dead for a minute. You know what...I know you don't want me to hear this but you SHOULD be writing the Pretender novels. The way it comes back to Jarod here. he programmed himself to do that before the brainwashing and memory steealing was completed...he kept saying that he had to remember Miss Parker. Where is Miss Parker? I hope she's ok. Anyway. I love your writing style. It's clear and reads like a train. Very professional. I see what you meant about your muse forcing you to write that part where Jarod attacks Sydney. Jarod is super cold and mean as hell in this. I could totally see him do this too. More please!!

I tend to avoid dark stories but read this even though you warned us about it. While not a fan of murder and the like I think you are an excellent storyteller and you are one of the few The Pretender authors that stays true to the characters. I could smell the bayou and feel the teeth grab that man's throat. I think Jarod would take it too far to scare the confession out of the bad guy. It's not very realistic that he never messed up during the series. You would think that he would make a mistake at some point. I enjoy reading plausible stories and so even if this is dark it is plausible and like all of your pieces it is professionally plotted and written. You've won me over.

This is completely different spin on the series and definitely could be one way the story goes. This chapter... was graphic and you sometimes explore the darker side of Jarod, Centre, Triumvirate and humanity in general lol BUT it's always in step with canon. Jarod is a loose cannon and the Centre kidnapped him...hello! It's a dark series and there was never much romance in the show anyway. All of that is prob. what makes your fics spot on plausible and exciting to read. There are already about a million romance, family, baby fics anyway! Years ago you said you weren't scared of the dark. I believe that!
What matters to me in reading has nothing to do with warnings and genres. I will read any genre and even the R non consent that other authors write and some of the best written fics here are non consent. They are different and not the same as every other romance fic.
What matter is how well you write what you write and as long as I recognize the characters I will be happy. You have a firm grasp of the characters and the pretender universe in general. I think sometimes authors use writing as therapy to try to understand better certain things or maybe to explore their own darkness...maybe you are just fascinated by the mind...but if you want the truth Mirage I think you like to push the envelope... or Lady Muse does. Your muse likes to set you apart. I think you really seriously don't care what people think. That's my favorite thing about you. :-) You write what your Lady Muse tells you and if she's pleased you don't care if everyone else in the worlds is pissed off. I like that. You are true to the craft. You are a wordsmith.
My favorite part of this is when the code Jarod hacks sounds like "don't fear the reaper" lol. That is awesome. best line eva: "he alighted on Jarod's trusting nature and moral rectitude, latched on like a vulture to carrion." EPIC! Please post more soon!

Mirage you continue to demonstrate your versatility, each story orginal and fresh. Miss Parker is spot on perfect! She always is in your fiction so no big shock there. The shock !! was her taking big bad Jarod down at just the right moment. "Plucked the gun out of the air" Incredible action in this. Jarod is so out of it in this and it's scary to think how easily it could happen to him! He's always been one short straw away from losing it. Brilliant! I'm glad she realized that she and Jarod and Catherine are on the same team. It took so much pain for her to get that. She has seen the light at the end of a long dark tunnel.

YES! OOoh Yes! You updated this! I love how in character everyone is in this and all of your stories and really appreciate how this played in mind like an missing episode from the the show. Miss Parker can be thoughtful when she wants to be and that came through here when she was dealing with Gil and Ramona's troubles. Your writing is delicate and very visual but raw too! Miss Parker was really thorough in her search of his room. My computer died on me but now that I am backI am going to read the rest of this....but first I am dying to read the rest of Forces of Nature...against your advise not to lol. It can't be that bad.

I'm still reading you. Gotta say I really love this Mirage. I echo others that said this wasn't a favorite story. It is hard to top Nemesis! but you are doing that now with The Return series though and I have hope you will soon update The Return!!! (hints) You still kept my interest with this one though and I didn't expect that. I love romance and especially Jarod and Parker romance and no one writes it better than you...even though you are not a JarodParker shipper and not a Jarod fan?! ;) :) There hasn't been much romance yet in this, just some tenderness when she was thinking of seducing him for her freedom. BUT here I am anyway loving the action in this story and you manage to hold my interest which is hard to do. I am dying to know how this ends. Please don't make me wait too much longer.

You show again that you command your universe and the characters in it. I read in awe when I read you. My heart was warmed by this even though it was violent in places. My heart was warmed because those are my characters. You worked your magic again! Don't have time to log in. I love this chapter. Hell of a fight scene Mirage! Jarod is a genius and has been trained to kill. He knew how to do it with his hands and make short work . You r a woman (that's the rumor?) and you write such fast-paced action drama. You lighten it up with humor (Jarod's thoughts about how many licks it takes...that old owl commercial with the tootsi pop and the cartoon commercial was an OWL lol...Cox codename was owl). All around perfect update. My week will be wonderful. You can make it better by updating some or all of your other fics. Please? I need more.

I am laughing at your warnings in the chapter introduction. You're like "this blood stuff doesn't bother me and I don't know why I have to put the warnings but ok fine here they are" and what do ya mean if you still have readers. The weekend and a new Mirage chapter. I can think of nothing better. Intelligent and professional as always Mirage. This is another offering that could easily be an addition to the Pretender story and one I think most of us would like to see on the screen...thanks to your brilliance I was able to see it all happen in my mind. Boy oh boy! I could see why and how he'd still carry the guilt. We sometimes forget his role in Jarod's misery. I love that you included some German in this. Can't rate it anything but a 10!
