Although I'm not a fan of Miss Parker getting pregnant/having babies and the inner sense thing, I like the characterisation you play out in this story.
I find them well thought-out. Even after the centre Miss Parker wouldn't be a fun loving woman. She still would have her softer side, but only towards the people close to her.
And Jarod would still be the (irritating) nice guy, that everybody love's.
Mostly I'm not so keen on original characters, but I really like the ones you made up. there is a great interaction between them and Jarod and Miss Parker.
And a last thought on Jarod's extracurricular activities; I don't believe he would cheat on Miss Parker or any other woman he's involved with. Even tough he has a dark side, I don't think it's in his nature. So I'm eager to find out, what he really has been doing and what truth he has been hiding from Miss Parker.

What is it with cliff hangers! Honest the story is well written and we are not going to abandon it even if you ldon't leave us hanging and blowing in the wind.
I will be anxiously looking forward to more.
