Title: Before I Wake

Thank you for posting another chapter. Can't wait until Jarod wakes up and read the next chapter to see if it worked, or not. Will the next chapter have Jarod waking up and talking?

Title: Before I Wake

Wonderful story! I love where this is going. Its nice that things aren't going Jarod's way. Not because I don't like Jarod, but it's not directly a happily ever after story. It's more like a shit his memories gone, what do we do now story:) Just gives the story a little kick, and keeps us readers on the edge of our seats, trying to figure out how its going to end and if your going to have a good ending to a terrible act against Jarod. *smiles* Awaiting the next chapter!

Yes the bad guys won, but what a brilliantly described victory. Jarod's walk to the infirmary reminded me of a convict walking to the death chamber... Congratulations on a stark, complex, tense and poignant story!

PS: I really really hope to read about what happens next, Jarod's new life, the search for the cure to Animus etc soon!

Title: Believe Your Own Lies

Just finished reading "Believe your own lies", once more I loved it! From a terrific Miss Parker, to an amazing Angelo, with a healthy dose of Jarod, ever the genius, admirable in his self-control (I have to say, I feared the talk between Sydney and him, it could have gone so wrong from a characterization point of view) and of course a great Sydney trying to content everyone at the same time, this is truly good stuff... I am very impressed by the way you convey the feeling of captivity, not just concerning Jarod, but all of the characters. All trapped in their own lies under the watchful eyes of cameras and sweepers... Can't wait to read more!

Title: Ghosts and Ghouls

Oh this is good stuff! I am dreading the "treatment" and  wouldn't want to be in Sydney's shoes for all the tea in China, yet I am thoroughly enjoying this story... Does that make me evil? I think it makes me totally engrossed in your story!
Bert the one with the mullet...lol! Trust Broots to have the most fashion-sense deprived friends at the centre, hehe. But I liked the way you brought about the idea of the antidote. A believable intern story, no magical immediate solution to the problem...yet hope, just what we needed! Well done!

Oh well, we can't let your muse shrivel up, now can we? Another very good chapter (chapter 3), I especially loved the Jarod/Angelo interaction. I also find Miss Parker's reasoning at the end fascinating, if extremely harsh...

oooh I'm liking this first chapter! Good balance between action, description and dialogue, characters are spot on so far... If I had time, I'd read more today!

Words alone (particularly coming from me) cannot express the enormity of what you've accomplished here.  To say that you hope you've done a "reasonably good" job of protraying the characters is so humble it's like saying einstein fooled around with formulas.

You're producing an incredible piece of work here; which will not only stand the test of time but also places you within the circle of the finest and most talented writers posting on missing pieces.  You took a risk, as other reviewers have said, and pulled it off beautifully.

I'm so happy to see you get the praise you deserve.

Congrats.

OMG.  I feel as wrung out as Jarod (and Parker, for that matter) after reading this one.  But I mean that in a GOOD way.  Whew!  What a chapter!  Can't wait for more.....  *crossing fingers*

That really was spectacular! Well well done :) It was sad and heartwrenching and so much more. Thanks for posting again so soon, and I cannot wait to see how the story develops from here.

Amazing work, really!!!

Title: Maelstrom

Thank you for the update. I love this story. Very in character. As with the show Miss Parker never thought of the concenquinces of victory if she ever captured him. All she thought about was making her Daddy happy by trying to capture him.

Author's Response: Thanks!  It's been a lot of fun, showing the different facets of the characters that we didn't get to see on the show.  Hopefully, it's hitting reasonably close to the true characters.  Updates will be posted soon, and I hope you keep reading!

Thank you for the update, it was well written and you captured the emotional consequences well.

Author's Response: Thank you for the review!  More is on the way as soon as it makes it through the gauntlet of betas (and said betas work a minor miracle).  I hope you keep reading!

I really like this story. Its different than most. It gives the Centre their Pretender back in the worst way for Jarod. I feel for him. I can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks, anamchara!  Above all, I've tried to keep this story original, and it's good to know that it's working.  Thanks so much for the kind words; they keep me writing.

First - this is a fantastic story (took me a while to catch up).

Second - this chapter was absolutely amazing...sad, poignant, and heartbreaking...yet with a little hope that good guys will win the war (even after losing this battle).

Whether Jarod ever regains his lost memories or not (whether he escapes again or not), I'm looking forward to the rest of the story (I have my own theory as to why this had to happen to Jarod, but I'll keep quiet about my theories till the end. :) )

More soon?

Author's Response: Thanks!  Writing this chapter was kinda like running the New York Marathon:  you feel proud when you're done, but it's not something you want to do again right away.  I can't tell you how much it means to have the chapter--and the story--warmly received here.  More chapters are in the works.  It's great to know that you're open to anything, and that this story has made you think.  I hope you enjoy where this journey takes us.

This was so good, just read it again, and I am so glad (in a twisted way) you didn't wuss out on this and gofor the flowers and teddy bears ending. Love everything about this story. Waiting most eagerly to see what happens next, how (IF) Jarod is going to get out of this one, how Parker and Sydney cope with this 'new and improved' Jarod.

Author's Response: Thanks, Jacci!  I was really worried about this chapter--that the readers wouldn't be able to handle such a dark storyline.  It's good to see it embraced, in all its twisted complexities.  I'm actively working on two more chapters with many more in the works, so I hope you keep reading!

wow. what a chapter. I really felt for Jarod. You captured the scene incredibly well and gave a very honest look into something so horrible to imagine. Well done!

Can't wait to see how Jarod will get out of this one and how he'll recover from it. Brilliant chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks!  Coming from one of the best writers on the site, that is indeed high praise.  I'll try not to keep you in suspense too long.

Title: The Price of Solace

YAAAAAAY, an update!!

Of course, not so 'yaaay' for Jarod, but I have faith in you that you'll make everything all right eventually.  *nods*

Author's Response:

Why thank you!  I hope chapter 9 doesn't do too much to disabuse you of that faith--there is a plan in motion.  Hopefully, I'll have it all written and revealed before my audience dies of old age . . .

Thanks for your support!

Great Story! I love how you show the internal struggle in Parker and her "reasoning". I read the whole thing in one sitting and couldn't stop. Please update soon, can't wait to see how this all turns out.

Author's Response: Wow!  Thanks for the great review.  It's great to see that this stuff is appreciated.  Chapter 9 is up, and further chapters should be coming soon.  Hope you keep reading!

yay, an update. ;-) Verrry good, as Sydney would say. You managed to capture Jarod's angst and then final acceptance really well. The conflict of MP and Sydney was also clear to see. Loved the chapter. Looking forward to more.

Author's Response: Thanks, whashaza!  I'll try not to disappoint.  I know this is the millionth time I've said this, but updates really should be more frequent from here on out.

oh MP! What a fantastic chapter. Welcome back :)

The whole Syd/J interaction was perfect. It really underlines what probably should have happened between those two characters years and years and years ago.

You wrote it brilliantly, and i cannot wait for the next chapter!!

Author's Response: Thanks!  It's good to be back.  I'm glad you liked the Syd/J bit.  It was tough to orchestrate, but it's also the real reason I'm writing this story.  Thanks for another great review!

Ohh sniffers, you made me cry, bad bad you!!!

That scene with Sydney and Jarod was so good. I hate what is happening to Jarod, it is making me feel ill at the unbelievable violation, which far outdoes all the previous ones (and that is really saying something). You have captured the moods and nuances perfectly and I love how torn but determined Parker is.

Can't wait for more.

Author's Response: This is coming two weeks late, but . . . have a tissue.  Thanks for the support, the plugs, and the great review.  It's good to know I'm doing something right.

Another fantastic chapter!! The bit at the end  was particularly touching. I cannot wait for more, and please don't feel bad about the wait. I understand how hard it is during school to find time for the muse to cooperate, and then when it's summer vacation it seems as if your brain forgot how to work....

Author's Response: Thanks!  But, I do feel bad, especially when RL interferes to the point where I don't even respond to reviews in a timely fashion.  Ah, well.  Enjoy the next chapter (which will be forthcoming as soon as I can get it loaded).

Very interesting story I hope that Miss Parker wakes up before she acts anymore like Lyle. Yikes.

You are weaving together some very colorful threads, your story is well written. I just hate to see Parker as that nasty! but who knows what you have up your sleeve! I will happily await the next chapter to see what happens!

Just as in the show, there seems to be more happening then what we see.

Good work.

Author's Response:

Glad you enjoyed it!  Can you believe that when I started this story I thought "quick, simple, just focus on the Syd/Jarod relationship"?  Well, that didn't work out.  Still, part of the fun of the show (and the fandom) is drawing on so many interesting characters and seeing how their unique histories shape events.  As for Parker, I want you to be confused--Lord knows she is!

Thanks for the review, and I hope you keep reading!

hey you - i could have sworn i wrote a glowing review already but it appears to have vanished or your muse ran off with it.  this chap. came off beautifully; so glad to see it posted.  you really have a way with jarod; makes me feel like i've crawled into his skin (i wish) and feel his emotions along with him.  remember to be careful not to get parker too one-sided tho.  let's keep the momentum going, huh.  ready for ch. 8, when you are.

2....4....6....8....who  do   we   appreciate?    MP      MP     Y  E  A     MP!!!!!      (and the crowd goes crazy.....)

Author's Response: Aww, my own cheer squad!  I think I am ready for Chapter 8--provided my internet cooperates.  Thanks for the support, the enthusiasm, and the occasional tough love.
