Oh this is good stuff! I am dreading the "treatment" and wouldn't want to be in Sydney's shoes for all the tea in China, yet I am thoroughly enjoying this story... Does that make me evil? I think it makes me totally engrossed in your story!
Bert the one with the mullet...lol! Trust Broots to have the most fashion-sense deprived friends at the centre, hehe. But I liked the way you brought about the idea of the antidote. A believable intern story, no magical immediate solution to the problem...yet hope, just what we needed! Well done!

Aw MP, this sucks! As much as it hurts me to say that, really and truly it does suck. You give us two (yes I counted them!) great chapters and then leave us wanting for more! You tease us and have us on the edge of our seat and then expect us to leave glowing reviews?
OK, it's great, it's wonderful but you're mean and cruel making us wait for another chapter!

Terrific idea and well written. BUT being a Parker fan, I can't see her standing by doing nothing. Not when she also sees the affect it has on Syd. Parker always takes time to think it through, especially when there is no time -if you go by the series- other times she reacts on instinct.
No matter how you write this-as it is your story to write! I am enjoying it enough to check back often for more.

Glad you're enjoying the story! I'd also like to thank you for one of the first truly open critiques I've gotten outside of those my betas provide. Comments like these are really helpful for me as a writer because they force me to really think about the characters.
For the record, I also consider myself a "Parker fan," but I don't think she's infallible. I believe she's an incredibly strong, capable woman who is forced by circumstance to survive in a very treacherous environment. She's capable of incredible acts of bravery and kindness (as we saw in Donoterase), but she's also learned to survive by occasionally sticking her head in the sand--that's the only way she knows to look out for #1. My hope is that this story will explore both these facets of her personality, but that takes time and development. If you'll bear with me, I think you'll like where she eventually ends up.

You're too sweet--you're making me blush:) As for how it turns out I think people keep saying that because they're hoping I'll slip and say that in the end . . . whoops. Almost gave it away;) Never fear, I'll keep posting until it is resolved--one way or another.
As soon as I can figure out the technological monster that is Windows Messenger (to me, anyway), we'll have that atoms and bonds talk!

Very good built-up chappie. You've given a lot of info in this one but left us with no doubt that even if thinks look really bleak, there's still hope. Wonder if MP is gonna have a change of heart and why Raines pulled the curtains on the poor sap he used for his proof. Guess what I'm saying is thanks for a well thought out story and looking forward to more. ;-)
