“Doesn’t this violate your Hippocratic Oath?” Jarod looked coldly at the trembling pharmacist tied to a chair in front of him. How dare he claim the vow’s protection when he had been selling weakened doses of medicine in order to make a profit on the black market? Remorselessly, Jarod moved the needle full of ominous liquid closer to the man’s vein.
“I didn’t take the Hippocratic Oath,” Jarod informed him. “In fact, I’m not even a doctor.”
“No.” The Pretender paused as inspiration struck and grinned evilly. “But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.”
